Introduction to Facebook

Christmas is almost here, and our Christmas Potluck is even closer! Don’t forget, we even have a raffle for gift cards and tickets are on sale for $1 each. The potluck is to be held right after services. Minister in training, Avery Babon gave a talk last time on slowing things down. It’s needed more now than ever to restore our spiritual nature.

We just started up a Facebook Group for our church. Not to be confused with Living Light Church or Living in the Light Facebook groups. Our church schedule has been updated for 2025. Take a peek here.

It is that time of the year for our Christmas Clothing Drive. We are now collecting clothing items that go to our friends at Compassion Ministries who donate them to the homeless. Don’t throw those gently used items away! I am donating a comforter, so blankets are welcome. This is your last chance to drop off clothes for the drive. December 15th.

Quote of the Week:

Dan had forgotten to check some sort of mechanism on a piece of equipment he used, it malfunctioned and broke the equipment which ended up having around a $250,000 repair bill. The next day Dan’s boss called him in to talk about it, and he was sure he was going to be fired. His boss asked him why he didn’t do a proper check, made sure he understood what happened and sent him back to work. Dan asked him “Am I not getting fired? I was almost sure that’s what this was about.” His boss said “No way, I just spent $250,000 teaching you a lesson you’ll never forget. Why would I fire you now?” Everyone makes mistakes, and yelling at them just makes them resent you and become defensive. Being calm and understanding will make people look up to you.
