December’s latest

Christmas had come and then it left as suddenly as it appeared. We had a very nice potluck with plenty of food. My lasagna in a crockpot was very popular, AND IT WAS HOT! Not like last year when we couldn’t heat anything. Eight raffle prize envelopes were won. They were either gift cards or scratchers. I wonder if anyone won a big cash prize? We gave away LED candles.   Rev. Lynn Rogers gave a talk about Jesus shared by Edgar Cayce. Rev. Robert Ingold gave the talk about how a simple gesture can touch more people’s hearts than intended, some trivia like where candy canes come from, and a funny “T’was the Night Before Christmas” rewrite.   You will be happy to know that our clothing drive donations went to my friends at Compassion Ministries who donated to the homeless. Children’s clothing is harder to come by, so they were happy to receive it. Thank you to all who participated.   We will be having a guest speaker on the third Sunday, but you will have to wait to find out who it is. Just a reminder that we now have a Facebook page. Our church schedule has been updated for 2025. Take a peek here.

“I learned to give… not because I have too much. But because I know how it feels to have nothing.”
